Salmon Teriyaki Donburi

One of those quick and reassuring Japanese lunches that everyone seems to enjoy is donburi. Did you know that donburi can also be cooked with fish in addition to the more popular meats of chicken or beef? This simple salmon donburi is topped with a homemade teriyaki sauce that is sweet, flavorful, and garlicky. 20 minutes to complete in preparation.

What is Donburi?

Donburi (どんぶり), or don, which simply means bowl, is a Japanese dish consisting of rice topped with a variety of meats, seafood, or vegetables.

Key Ingredients:

Salmon Fillet Teriyaki Sauce Cooked Japanese Rice Ichimi Togarashi

Directions:

Season the salmon with salt. Dust the salmon with flour. Fry the salmon on the skillet for 2 minutes each side. Add the sauce and cook until the sauce thickens. Top the cooked rice with the salmon. Sprinkle with sesame seed and serve with ichimi togarashi.
