Sriracha Buffalo Sauce Recipe (with Grilled Cauliflower)

Who knew that a hot and tangy plate of grilled cauliflower served with a quick sriracha Buffalo sauce recipe would be just as good and satisfying as a Buffalo wings!

I have a weakness for chicken wings. If it were up to me I would have chicken wings every week – Buffalo chicken wings to be precise because of their strong vinegar flavor base.

Yes, I’ll have a big plate of chicken wings slathered in piquant Buffalo sauce served with a creamy blue cheese dip please.

It’s too bad eating a dozen of them means I’ll later have to do some control damage by spending a few hours on the treadmill. Fortunately, I’ve discovered that making Buffalo sauce is very easy and goes well not only with wings but with healthy veggies. Victory!

This is a quick and easy Buffalo sauce recipe I’ve created keeping in mind the health factor. Although it does contain some butter, I am only using two tablespoons, which is about a third less than what most Buffalo sauce recipes use.

Fear not: the taste is just as addictive and comforting, and the texture remains buttery silky.

I chose sriracha sauce as the main component for this Buffalo sauce recipe because of its high acidic content and hot pepper flavor. Nothing needs to be altered here, I just bumped up the flavors a little more and adjusted the taste to bring it closer to a classic Buffalo sauce recipe.

I am serving this sriracha Buffalo sauce recipe with cauliflower since they are looking gorgeous and are in season these days. You can easily substitute cauliflower for broccoli, zucchini sticks or any other vegetable you usually serve on a platter with a dip.

Serve this sriracha Buffalo sauce recipe and grilled cauliflower with a quick ramen noodle coleslaw, a summer rainbow salad or a healthy bowl of poached chicken with sesame sauce

  • 1/3 cup sriracha sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  2. Cover a large cooking tray with aluminum foil and lay cauliflower pieces on top. Add extra virgin olive and toss the cauliflower until all the pieces are coated. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
  3. Turn the oven to broil and leave the cauliflower until the pieces are golden brown (about 5-7 minutes).
  4. Turn the oven off and take out the cauliflower. Place cauliflower in a bowl and pour half of the buffalo sauce recipe on top. Toss until well coated.
  5. Transfer cauliflower pieces on to a plate and pour the remaining buffalo sauce in a dipping bowl. Serve cauliflower with dipping sauce.

Alternatively, you can reserve the buffalo sauce entirely on the side and use as a dipping sauce for more than just cauliflower!
