This year I will be hosting my very first Galentine’s Day party and I have to say, I’m pretty excited about it!

Thanks to Leslie Knope who created Galentine’s Day in episode 16 of Parks and Recreation, we girls now have a fun holiday we can celebrate with our favorite gal pals. To let my friends know how much I love and cherish their friendship, I will be turning my living room into a nail bar where we can give each other manicures. I have colorful nail files they can take home, nail stickers I brought back from Japan and have asked the girls to bring their favorite nail polish colors. I do have quite a few bottles but my shades are on the natural and muted side – Galentine’s Day nails should be loud and proud!

This evening is not only about celebrating the lovely ladies in my life, it’s also about indulgence which is why I’m putting together a sweet and savory snack spread for everyone to enjoy. I’m offering an assortment of chocolates and sweet treats from our childhood along with chips and dips, and homemade pizza margherita.

Drinks? Pink bubbly of course! Every gal of mine is getting a tall glass of rosé cava, ornate with love wine charms and a polka dot straw. Rosé Cava will be flowing all night long while we do our nails and chat about love and life. It’s going to be a very girlie evening!

Your Galentine’s Day celebration can be whatever you want it to be – whether your status is single, taken or ‘it’s complicated’, this is a time to celebrate all the lovely ladies in your life and #OpenUp to new experiences!! If throwing a nail bar party isn’t your cup of tea, here are other ways to celebrate February 14th:

Fancy Pot Luck

Invite your girlfriends over for a fancy pot luck dinner and ask them to each bring their best dish. Dress up for the occasion and have goodie bags for them to take home once the party is over.

Slumber Party

Invite your favorite girls over for a sleepover! Wear cute pyjamas, play board games, have a pillow fight, indulge in cookie dough ice cream and watch The Princess Diaries.

Makeover Instagram Party

Give each other makeovers and make sure it’s over the top! Think glitter makeup, bright colors, crimped hair, ribbons, fake eyelashes and share your looks on Instagram for everyone to see. This is guaranteed to make everyone laugh and have a great time!
