Lavazza Coffee – Peppermint Mochaccino (Sponsored)
A good cup of coffee in the morning is all I need to get the day off to a good start. I love sitting at my kitchen table and wake up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee slowly drifting up to my nose. A few sips later and the caffeine has worked its magic pick me up spell on me and I can think more efficiently. So you can imagine my excitement when I received an e-mail from Lavazza Coffee asking if I would be interested to work with them on their latest Buongiorno campaign! I jumped on the opportunity and a few days later received a box filled with goodies: a Keurig coffee maker, Lavazza Coffee cups and over 80 Lavazza Coffee K-Cup refills. What a wonderful way to get my daily caffeine fix!
I later went on their website to read about the different flavors of K-cups that were mailed to me and along the way learned that Lavazza was established in Turin, Italy in 1895 where it initially ran from a small grocery store. Since then the company has grown to become Italy’s #1 coffee brand and is still run by family members – third and fourth generations of Lavazza coffee experts! What also caught my attention are their ethics in regards to how they treat their coffee growers – Lavazza Coffee started a Tierra Project in partnership with the Rain Forest Alliance which aims at improving farming practices to support sustainability for the growers and the environment they live in. Call me crunchy but I love and have a lot of respect for companies that care about people and nature!
Anyway, to get back to coffee I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make a dish or do something simple like a drink for this post. Making a dessert like a coffee granita or tiramisu came to mind, or doing a coffee crusted steak seemed fun and different. But then I came to the conclusion that coffee tastes best when it tastes like… Coffee. Especially if it’s good coffee, then there’s no point messing around with it too much.
I thought a nice, comforting and mildly sweet peppermint mochaccino would be the perfect recipe for this holiday season. The combination of coffee, chocolate syrup, peppermint, sugar, cinnamon and whipped cream makes it a great substitute for a dessert to enjoy by a roaring fire. You can also add a little whiskey for a jolly Irish coffee or some amaretto or coffee liquor for a Christmas coffee cocktail.
I used the Lavazza Coffee Perfetto K-Cup for this recipe since this bold espresso roast also has lingering caramel notes that pairs really well with peppermint. If you want to make it a family affair, try replacing the coffee for hot chocolate. Learn more about Lavazza and their coffee related products at lavazza.us

Thank you Amy that’s so sweet of you! You’re invited to my Christmas dinner now! 😉
In my home we drink exclussively espresso and for the past decade or so we’ve been using lavazza more than any other brand so this is actually kind of perfect for me (since I also love peppermint)! I can’t wait to try it out!
Despina, I think I am now addicted to Lavazza too! So delicious!
