Happy National Bubbly Day everyone!

If you haven’t heard of this holiday and wondered how you, bubbly lover, could have missed out on what could be the best holiday ever, there’s no need to panic.

The reason is because it didn’t exist until this year. June 3rd has officially become National Bubbly Day and we are super happy about that! Now that you are able relax, why no pop open a bottle of bubbly and join me on the celebration!

Something happens to my body as soon as the weather gets warm – I want to spend my days outside, enjoying the warm temperatures and I also become much more social. To me summer means slowing down on work and taking the time to nurture relationships. I’ll invite people over for rooftop cocktails, a picnic in the park and themed dinner parties. I love entertaining and to be a good hostess means I should never run out of food and libations!

My kitchen is always filled with snacks, salads, hors d’œuvres, and bottles of bubbly. When I think about the perfect summer drink I picture bubbles the color of sunlight, like a nice glass of cold and dry Cava.

This cava sangria recipe is very easy to make and will wow your guests. It’s very similar to a classic sangria but is less sweet and more citrusy. It’s one of those cocktails that make you come back for more because the taste isn’t overwhelming. It’s rather cleansing and energizing!

I’m using kiwi, strawberries, blueberries and oranges to garnish my sangria but you can use absolutely any fruit you want for this recipe.

As for food, I’m pairing the Cava sangria with a spinach and strawberry salad, some grilled veggies, Vietnamese style shrimp and chicken skewers and a big, bad cheese board.
