Braised Frisee Salad with Oyster Mushrooms

  • 3 cups frisee lettuce
  • 1 cup oyster mushrooms, roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


  1. In a pan over medium heat, add olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Pan fry for 1 minute, or until garlic becomes fragrant, and add the mushrooms and the frisee lettuce.
  3. Pan fry for 1 minute and take off the heat as soon as the frisee becomes slightly wilted.
  4. Transfer the salad to a serving plate and top with chopped shallot.
  5. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
