A quick and easy calamari and celery stir fry cooked with garlic, butter and soy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound calamari, cleaned, bodies cut into 1/4 inch thick, tentacles left whole, squid
  • 3 stalks celery, cut into 1/4 thick pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large pan over high heat, add oil, garlic and cook for one minute.
  2. Add celery and cook for 3 minutes, until celery has begun to soften. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add butter, calamari and cook for 2 minute, stirring to cook evenly.
  4. Turn off the heat, transfer on to a plate and pour soy sauce on top. Season with salt and pepper one last time and serve immediately.

Notes

Calamari tastes best when eaten immediately. Saving it for later will change its texture and might make it more rubbery.
