Description

Delicious and colorful ramen noodles to celebrate Halloween.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shiitake mushrooms
  • 1 small carrot
  • 2 stalks scallions (cut 1/3 lengthwise and finely chopped)
  • 2 instant beef or chicken ramen
  • 2 boiled eggs
  • 1 teaspoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 cooked medium sausage
  • 1 sheet of nori

Instructions

  1. Slice the eggs in half, scoop out the yolk and put them in a bowl.
  2. Using a pairing knife, carefully cut out little ghosts from the cooked egg whites.
  3. Add gochujang to the egg yolk and using a fork, mix with the yolk until you get a gritty texture.
  4. Cut the sausage in half lengthwise and widthwise. This will make four pieces. Using a pairing knife, create a nail by cutting off a thin layer at the end of each sausage piece. Cut a couple of lines below to make knuckles.
  5. Thinly slice 6 pieces of carrots and use the pairing knife again to create pumpkin shapes.
  6. Use scissors to create legs for the shiitake mushrooms.
  7. Use the sheet of nori to make eyes for the ghost and spider and use tweezers to place them.
  8. Cook the noodles following the directions on the package.
  9. Pour the soup and noodles in a bowl and take out 1/2 cup of soup.
  10. You can now create your Halloween ramen by placing the ingredients on top. Serve immediately.

Notes

Make the garnishes ahead of time so you can surprise your kids when they get back from school!
