The other day I got a craving for a creamy taro milk tea. But instead of heading to the tea shop, I decided to make it myself at home. Not only was the process super easy (no blender necessary), I was able to make it exactly how I like it.
Taro milk tea (香芋奶茶) is a sweetened drink made with brewed tea, taro root powder, milk and tapioca pearls (aka: boba). It typically has a vibrant purple color. Taro milk tea is just one version of boba tea (or bubble tea).
Measure out 1 cup of boiling hot water into cup and add preferred tea bag. Add sugar and taro powder and stir.
Bring water to a boil and add in tapioca pearls and cook. Drain and rinse and add them to cold tea.
Add milk and stir and serve!
