Guest Post – Gwen’s AM Glow Smoothie
I’m not that young, I don’t claim to know everything! 😉
But… after almost 20 years modeling and 16 years in healthcare, I’ve learned a few things about how to look and feel beautiful from the inside out. And for me, it begins in the morning with an AM glow smoothie.
Specializing in holistic beauty and health, I use a combination of products, techniques, foods, and supplements to get the energy and glow from within that radiates outward, showing up as physical beauty.
Did you ever just see someone walk into a room that shines?? Maybe she wasn’t the most traditional beauty… but there was ‘something’ about her? Confidence, poise, strength, and air of wisdom maybe??
You just couldn’t put your finger on it. Well, I want to share with you a part of my morning ritual that will help you to BE that woman!
I believe in body, mind and spirit health. AKA holistic health.
Keeping all parts of us healthy, strong, and balanced. So, every morning I read my affirmations, intentions, and say what I am thankful for that day- this is for my mind. I give myself a short (but very effective) Reiki Healing which balances and unblocks my energetic system and my chakras so it can flow freely, leaving me feeling calm, centered, light, and revived- this is for my spirit.
Then I head to the kitchen to make myself a smoothie to arm myself for the day, revitalize and energize myself- this is for my body.
One of my favorites is Gwen’s AM Glow Smoothie.
I call it this because it really does just that. It gives me calcium (almond milk has way more than cow’s milk), protein, potassium, antioxidants from blueberries, omega 3’s from the flax and chia that literally make your skin glow.
Omega 3’s are also good for lowering cholesterol, ADHD, brain focus and function, heart health, and a myriad of other things.
Cacao is a superfood and gives a little jolt of caffeine and antioxidant power, vitamin C powder is a powerful antioxidant as well- good for the connective tissue in the skin making it firmer and decreasing the appearance of cellulite, also strengthening the capillary walls decreasing spider veins, and finally strengthening the immune system.
This Smoothie is packed with good stuff, and will have you feeling amazing, up and at ‘em early in the AM! Enjoy!
Gwen’s AM Glow Smoothie
Healthy and invigorating smoothie to get you started on the right foot!

- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 2 tablespoons ground flaxseeds
- 2 teaspoons Vitamin C powder
- 1 tablespoon cacao nibs
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- 1/4 cup water ( or 2–3 ice cubes)
- Put everything in a blender and blend until smooth.
